The shooting phase of the Mansfield Farm Project is due for completion on 16th May, 2020 after which time 1000's of images will be culled and edited with the view to holding a photographic exhibition in Mansfield later in 2020 (dependant upon Covid-19 restrictions at the time).
A bit of history about me... My husband and I moved to Mansfield from Melbourne in July 2017. Prior to purchasing our home I had been to Mansfield twice - once for coffee on the way through to Mt Buller a decade prior and once when we viewed our home. This impulsive 'tree change' threw me outside my comfort zone with no friends or family in the region and never having lived or spent any time in the country. Since then I have adjusted to life in the country, have re established my photography studio in Mansfield and have met some wonderful people. As I go about my travels however I realise I know very little about the properties surrounding me. Overnight cattle or sheep appear in paddocks previously empty, crops spring from the ground, farming equipment appears and the colours of the landscape change.
So what is the Mansfield Farm Project?
1. A personal project undertaken by Sandra of Sandra Lee Photography to capture images of farm life in the Mansfield Shire along with stories of the farm and farming families
2. The project will take place over a 12 month period to capture the various seasons and activities on the farm
3. Three farms will be selected for the project. We are looking for 3 very different farms based on size, type of farming undertaken and location.
4. The project will culminate in an exhibition of images to be displayed in Mansfield for locals and tourists
