A Bit About Me
So this is me in action. This image was taken by my good friend and colleague Sheona while shooting a wedding party at Parliament House steps in Melbourne - It's a stunning location but on this day - like most Saturday's we were jostling for position with 15 other happy couples!
I love what I do and I will always provide the best possible service to my couples. I only really picked up a camera when my children were little (that was a long time ago). I wanted to have a record of them growing up then more specifically wanted to capture them playing sport. Yes I love sport - AFL footy, cricket, baseball - the list goes on. That's when I got serious about photography - never happy with mediocre anything I purchased professional sports camera equipment. I was always pretty good at sports photography - could anticipate the action and was happy to be on the side lines all day shooting. After working for many years as a dedicated member of Victoria Police, I realised that photography was my future and not policing so invested in a professional photography course where I was introduced to the art of lighting and posing. That opened up a whole new area of photography and after second shooting at a wedding I fell in love.
I love everything about wedding photography - from the first contact with a couple to the delivery of their album/images and everything in between. I love being a part of the most important day of your life. I think its about connection. The connection I see between couples and the connection between you and your family and your friends.
Is wedding photography challenging - absolutely! But I love a challenge!
In this day of social media, texting and emails it's tempting to simply request price lists from photographers and choose the one that fits within a budget but I urge you to meet with your photographer before making any decision. Ask questions and get to know who you will be spending your wedding day with. I'll certainly have lots of questions and want to hear all about your wedding plans, who the important people are in your lives and what images are especially important to you.
